Got my hands on 6.1 geek bench scores.

6.1 wins it but not by much :)

But if you look at it its very marginal and and if it wouldn't be for faster memory, and thats running my 5.1 on 1TB black drive

This stall in per-thread CPU performance increases is a very big part of why Apple is shifting to a more GPU-oriented design.

CPU performance is not apple's doing. They are not the ones mfg the chip. I am not defending apple, let's try to be objective and realistic.

I find it somehow funny how much life is left in ol' big box MacPro after all theses years, especially if you cram some cards in the "obsolete" PCIe expansion slots.

I like the nMP as a sleek fast computer, but decided to get an 2009 model instead, and i do not regret it.

... and with 2 Mercury Accelsior in Raid0 you get
900 MB/s wright and 1180 MB/s read performance.

Thats amazing
im still running spinners do to size but now with 1 TB SSD available for under $500 options are opening up

4.1 and 5.1 will still be kings for years to come do to its upgradability options of all the components

the only slow point in them will be processors but with OWC upgrade options you can go to 12 core 3.++ GHz which is equivalent to 12 core 6.1's

Processor changes are relatively easy in the single CPU 4,1 and single or Dual CPU 5,1. No earthly reason to go with OWCs over priced processor transplant when you can DIY.
