Is there any huge benefit to buying an apple tv if I already use netflix via my ps3?

It may have a better look. I don't need rentals. Any show I watch I DVR. Also Netflix works great through the PS3. In addition to that I can stream any video from my Mac to my PS3 through Vuze without having to worry about the format of the video. Seems like if you have a PS3 then the new Apple TV really doesn't provide anything new other than a prettier presentation. Of course these are just early first impressions. I'm going to wait for people to start using them and posting reviews before i make my final decision.

No disc needed for Netflix. iTunes Store content available. All of your iTunes library on your PC or Mac will be available on your TV. You can put content on your iPhone/iPad and watch it via Apple TV. Price is much cheaper. I think the interface of the ATV is way better than Ps3. More intuitive, better for streaming content.

Only benefit I can instantly think of with PS3 is 1080p content. And games, of course.

But as somebody said earlier you can stream your mac content to your PS3. And I can plug my external into my PS3 to watch whatever I've downloaded online.

Yeah, seems like if you've already got a ps3 no need for apple tv. Otherwise it looks pretty great!

Thanks guys.
