Bent bottom case on MBP

The bottom case of my MBP has a few dents in it. The aluminum seems to bend very easy. The computer opens and closes fine. The only thing I cant use is the video slot (far side right).


Where could I get a new bottom case put on. Applecar wont do anything for me other than charging $600!!!!!!

Try ifixit.com, and check back often. If they don't have it today, they may have it next week.

Right now they don't have one for a 17 incher, but they do have a 15 inch bottom case for 249.00.

haha. No one sat on it!!

Honestly I take care really good care of my computer. Im a student so I lug my computer to class and around campus.

The damaged actually happened in its case and inside my backback. I must of put down my backpack to hard or something!!

Just follow the ifixit guides. It should be fairly straight forward.

What's there to worry about? The thing's already broken.

Replacing the bottom of a MBP is somewhat involved. ifixit has great step by step instructions though. The bending of the bottom case has been a cronic issue with the aluminum PBs and with the MBPs. I wish Apple as able to fix it.

I've tried pushing certain areas back. No luck, the aluminium will bend in then come back. It basically needs to be replaced. I'm no rush though as the computer works fine. All the connections are fine and functionable, exepct the video (but I never use that).

So anyone have any advice where to get the part intalled professionally????

You might try making friends with one of the Geeks at Best Buy. My friend on the Geek Squad helps me out with most of my "professional grade" repairs.
