Just out shopping to replace my 19" CRT and I'm looking for some advice in purchasing a 20" - 24" LCD. I've taken a look at the cinema displays and they seem pricey, and they don't seem to be able to adjust their height but they are so sexy. Are there any other manufacturers I should look at? Anyone with good experiences in non-apple products?

The 20 inch ACD and 20 inch Dell are both brilliant (as are the larger 23 ACD and 24 Dell)

While the Apple looks nicer, the Dell is cheaper and has more input options.
I own 2 of the older (pre-Alum) 20" Apple Cinema Displays. They costed around $1200 each in 2003. Still love them, but if I was buying now I would get the Dell 20" (it hurts saying that.)
The Dell 20" is currently on sale for $411.75 with free shipping.
That's barely more than 1/2 the price of the Apple.

I'd definitely go with the Dell 2005FPW. Actually, I did go with that monitor. I ordered one earlier this week, and it should be arriving today. The specifications between the Dell and Apple are extremely similar, if not in favor of Dell. I'd say the only thing that's reallly in Apple's favor is the case design. With the sale that Dell's having now, they're probably the best deal on an LCD that you'll find. Plus, they come with at least a 3 year warranty, compared to Apple's 1 year warranty.
Basically... order the Dell.

I have the Formac 2010. I have had it for a couple of years and I have never seen anything come even remotely close to the quality, brightness and color accuracy of it... anywhere.
I also have 3 Samsung 204t monitors, which has similar specs on paper, but it has serious shadowing, dead pixels and the response time is terrible compared to the Formac 2010.
The downside is that I want to buy another, but they seemed to have changed their website and I am no longer certain how to go about purchasing another.

I've got a matched pair of the Dell 2005fpw's that I've had nearly a year or so now. To say I've been impressed by them is an understatement. The price of the displays vs. the quality of the output is unmatched.
Take a look at www.dealsontheweb.com for a coupon you can use at Dell.com if you end up getting one/two of them... you can sometimes save a decent amount more than what the current price is if you use some of their online coupon codes. Each of my screens were ~$350, which is rather unbelievable, even to me.

I have a Cinema Display, and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I'm sure the Dell works nicely, but I love having a beautiful Apple display to connect my Powerbook and iMac to. I'll probably upgrade to a bigger one sometime.

HP Make a 23" LCD (L2335) which is regarded as better than the Dell 2405FPW but is a lot more expensive..
The dell 20" is gorgeous. I have one and love it, but it might be worth looking at those HP monitors. No one ever talks about them but they are good.

I just got my Dell 2005FPW yesterday, and couldn't be happier. It looks amazing, has no dead pixels or flaws of any kind, and works great with an Xbox 360/DVD player hooked up to it. I'd definitely recommend this over nearly any other monitor, especially if price is even remotely an issue. I got mine for about $450 shipped, and friends of mine have told me if you call Dell directly and either ask for a discount, or tell them about a recent sale you've missed, they'll drop the price a little bit lower. As far as comparing this to the 20" Apple Cinema Display, as I've heard elsewhere, and believe myself, if the Apple's price weren't so high, it might be a tough decision.
