my 2 friends and i want to make a game eventually (we still have to master programming first :)). anyway wat is the best 3d imaging software that works on both pc and macs? (i have a mac they have pc's). i was looking at silo 2 and it seems perfect for the price (3 licenses any combo of pc/mac). is it good?

OpenGL is cross platform and free.

Todd

edit - well, OpenGL is probably a bit too low level for what you are wanting as compared to something like silo 2. Don't forget Unity3D.

Have a look at jmonkey engine: http://jmonkeyengine.com/

wraps opengl/openal and provides more than just graphics, also sound, physics, input handling, etc

This always you to just be bothered by the game, not the platform, extend SimpleGame and you basicly got everything you need.
