for me, the best computergame was deus ex. i never felt so much atmosphere through gameplay. today, it's not really possible to play this game on a mac without emulation or switching to windows, as it was only available for mac os 9 (and after all it may look a bit old, altough it's gameplay is still far better than most modern games)

The best mac games i played these days were:

Braid: low budget (~15 bucks) and thus a bit short, but just GORGOUS gameplay. there's a free demo with 2 Worlds, so go and try it, it's just an amazing piece of puzle-plattforming

Machinarium: If there's any chance you like Adventuregames, then this game is made for you. even people who usually aren't really into adventuregames love it just because of its terrific artistic style. every screen just makes you want to print it out and frame it, everything is full of character and detail. like braid, it's also a bit short (and thus also costs about 15 bucks) but worth every cent.

i was a hardcore rainbow 6 ravenshield gamer, to be honest I only played online so I can't tell how single player is, the co-op modus is fun thou. I'm not sure if anyone is still playin it online?!

For me, Warcraft III for sure. I also enjoyed Myth and Myth II on OS 9. I know Myth II has been ported to OS X, but I am not sure about the original Myth. If you are a casual gamer these may not be for you however.

I thought Alice was incredible. and xiii. xiii is easy to get from feral's wesbite, Alice is going to be tricky. Alice was a cool third person Alice in wonderland adventure, except rated m. good stuff! lots of gameplay. xiii is an awesome comic book style fps. the only way to understand is to play it, it's awesome. as far as rts wc3 and aoe2 are top notch

Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft and Diablo. And also Starcraft 2 when it comes out. Love Blizzard, probably my favourite developer.

Haha, funny to see someone else loving this game. my sister hogs my computer sometimes playing this game and I always have to pry it away from her to check my facebook for a minute

Gracias

Weird,

Im new to mac, i was thinkin PC games weren't all that readily available for mac.

YES YES YES I LOVE STARCRAFT, im surprised there is still people playin online, I was addicted to it I had to delete it, it was talking so much of my life.

Umm Warcraft, wont touch, after all the shenigans i heard about people playin for days on out and seein buddies of mine get lost in the WOW. I said never shall i play it.

Ima check out Alice, thanks for the input guys.

Edot you still playing?
Whats your account?

Btw OP, WoW and WC3 are two different things. Warcraft 3 is much better than WoW and while although associated with WoW and mistaken for WoW, doesn't ruin people's lives and doesn't cost money to play :p

Everything in moderation...

Myth II is still the best RTS game I've seen. Both TFL and SB have been ported to work with OS X and even Intel processors.

Love Myth 1 & 2 and Mechwarrior 1 & 2. The best game ever by the numbers is probally WoW since almost everyone in the world has atleast tried it ;)

You can still get Myth?

Another vote for Myth II, it really was THAT good. It came top in a survey of top 100 Mac Games in 2006. Alas I don't have a link any more (I wish I did). Inside Mac Games have plenty of reviews and ratings. Their top 20 would be a good guide to what's worth tracking down.

without any doubt world of war craft... tegame is toally wicked... and its real fun to play on mac...
