I need to do a clean install and don't have a superdrive. I could pick one up but I'm not sure I'll need it much outside of getting up and running with a fresh OS. What's the next best alternative to avoid dropping the $100 on the drive?

Get a cheap AC powered DVD drive. I got the Samsung SE-S204 for 40 euros.

It's way faster than a USB powered drive like the Superdrive.

Can't you just Copy the OSX disk to a Large Jumpdrive and then load it from the jumpdrive?

Thanks. Managed it just fine via disc sharing from my mini. Seemed a little slower than a direct install; took about 90 mins front to back, but no big deal.
