Best one I've used so far is the GPad 8.3 (without the LG software). Wouldn't have minded getting the GPE version.

Cyanogenmod 11 does for now however!

Previously owned the 2013 Nexus 7 but then extra screen size on the 8.3 does make things better.

I don't own one, but I think the Nexus 7 is a good tablet. If I were to get an android tablet, that's the bad boy I'd purchase :)

Currently I cannot recommend Note 8. I would go for the LG G Pad.

Samsung will step up big time in the tablet market. Just look into their devices at CES.

I've owned both generations of the Nexus 7, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) and the LG G Pad 8.3 (GPE) and the LG is by far my favorite. It has the optimal size display for a smaller tablet with much smaller bezels than the Nexus, great materials and build quality, expandable memory and runs stock Android. Only negative is the display--while sharp, it's on the warmer side, almost yellowish in tone. TBH, I only noticed when putting in alongside the Nexus 7 and an iPad Mini.

The latest generation Nexus 7 is also very nice--I just find the 7" display too small.

The Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014) is a big step forward from past Samsung offerings but still has some noticeable flaws. TouchWiz is still too heavy handed with features of questionable utility and performance and results in an inconsistent and occasionally laggy experience. I also do not like the use of hardware buttons as it makes use in portrait orientation a PITA. The S-Pen works well but Samsung's accompanying software needs some improvement and expanded compatibility (more multi window compatible apps and syncing outside the Samsung environment).

I'm curious about the recently announced Samsung Tab 8.4 with it's super high res display but worry about the hardware buttons and Samsung's UI skin.

The value of this tablet indeed can't be beaten. However, a Note Pro 12" or a 10" 2014 is definitely much more capable - at at least twice the price point. (Actually, the Note Pro 12" is so freaking expensive that I'd certainly prefer the Surface Pro 2 to it.)

The 2014 has the sharpest display I've ever owned on a tablet, but the inconsistency in performance forced me to return it. Contrast (particularly black levels) was also lacking which was evident in a darker environment, not to mention the flash lighting on the one I had was terrible.

The Nexus 7 is hands down the best Android tablet. The most underrated tablet is the Lenovo Ideatab s5000 because it greatly outperforms its specs.

Another BIG thumb's up for the new Nexus 7. The 16gb version is occasionally on sale for $199, but even at the standard retail price it's a great value. Best small tablet available right now.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Bit of a pointless thread as we don't know what size you want?

But I have a 2012 Nexus 7 and would not hesitate for a second to replace it with another Nexus 7. It fits in my pocket and is nice and powerful and runs native Android and games like a boss. Their is a nice Nvidia Tegra 4 7" tablet but it has a low screen resolution.

So 7" - Nexus 7
8" - The LG tablet or the Note tablet
10" - Nexus 10 or Note 10" or the Asus Transformer TF701T

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014

Bought one for my daughter for Xmas. She chose it over an iPad Air.

Build quality is decent....typical of a Samsung device. Visual quality was supberb, almost as good as my iPad Air. S-Pen is really a nice feature on a tablet of this size.

If you really want to stay Android, likely the best in class right now. Pricey, however.

summary: everyone recommends a device from Samsung

I don't like their bloatware. Is it possible to install CyanogenMod on the new devices? Which one do you recommend me for CyanogenMod? I like 7"

1, you've misread the thread - Samsung is the king in the high-end, particularly if you want windowed multitasking / Wacom.

2, in the lower-end, the Nexus 7 2013 is the best.

The new Nexus 7 is NOT low end at all. It has a beautiful 1920 x 1200, 323ppi screen, a Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core 1500 MHz processor, 2gb of ram and clean Android 4.4 Kit Kat.

I used the expression lower-end. I certainly didn't mean low-end.

BTW, I love mine too(albeit I use my iPads a hundred times more, particularly now that they could be JB'n under iOS7) and have also recommended it above.

I'm so sick of Safari crashing on my iPad Air. I picked up another (had one previously but sold it) Nexus 7 32GB 2013 for $180 on an open box deal. Curiously this thing is brand spanking new, the factory wrapping was never removed.

Google has addressed the issues that drove me nuts from the first Nexus 7 I had. It runs great. Even though Chrome is nowhere near as quick as Safari on the iPad Air, I can open 10+ tabs and it never closes my tabs or crashes.

The bad thing now is that I'm used to the light weight of the iPad Air with the big 10" screen, the 7" Nexus is too small now, so now I'm checking out the Sony Xperia Tablet Z which has the same specs as the Nexus 7. I've been reading about it all day and I think it's overall the best Android tablet right now, taking into account build quality, size and weight. This thing is thinner than the iPad Air and is waterproof!
