What is the best app for Hotmail? And is there any good push notification apps for hotmail like Gpush for gmail??

the best app for hotmail is gmail

only reason i still have mine is for MSDN access. leave it to MS to destroy one of the top internet brands of the 1990's

the only hotmail app that i've seen is Mbox-mail, and it currently doesn't provide push. I emailed them 2 months ago about a time line, and they only responded it will be out ASAP....i'm not holding my breath.

I currently use izymail.com, when you subscribe (17.95 a year, steep i know) it uses the native mail app on the iphone, but it's fetch, not push....

with the lack of progress in the hotmail push area, i've tried to move all my mail activity to yahoo. If hotmail wasn't my first ever email address and i wasn't so sentimental about it, i'd have moved on years ago...

oh yeah, i get what you mean! i'm in the exact same situation! I would love to have just ONE account for friends/family, and ONE account for official biz... and both to be from one provider (Gmail). but the thing is, that hotmail was my first email ever, and i created another hotmail for official biz, then moved to yahoo and created two also... and now i'm trying to migrate to gmail, as i already opened two more accounts on gmail!
so, every single day i have to check 6 different email accounts! so frustrating!

Gmail can access your Hotmail using POP3. But you have to pay for POP3 access to Yahoo! Mail. At least you would be down to 4 accounts! :)

Why not just forward your email from 4 accounts into the 2 accounts you want to keep and gradually notify the people that are emailing you that you have changed your address. If they don't listen and still send it to your old email at least you will still receive it. This way you don't have to check so many different email addresses.

And to answer the OP's question. I want push email and there is no good service out there yet. What I use is just forward my gmail to a yahoo mail account. Yahoo will push automatically so I will get an alert. Then I know that I have a new email and then go into Gmail and download/view the message. It's not true push, but it works just as good in my opinion. I just go into my Yahoo account once every couple weeks and just delete the messages in there so they don't accrue too much. You can do the same for your Hotmail as I did for my Gmail. The Gpush app sucks, so don't wish you had it for Hotmail.

Not true. On iPhone, Yahoo! offers free IMAP access to Yahoo! Mail.

So, today i thought i'de give it a try and added all of my 6 accounts (2 on each of gmail, yahoo AND hotmail) directly from my iphone... and guess what? gmail and yahoo of course work... but what shocked me is that hotmail worked seamlessly without even putting incoming/outgoing servers, etc and all that hassle! and i could send and receive messages from all 6 accounts!

This is truly the way to go. It works very well. You'll just have to wait for push though.

I've been waiting for push since june, and they've known about being able to utilize push since march, and yet still nothing.

In a non sarcastic, totally inquisitive tone, what would be taking them so long? i'm not a developer or have any clue on how to do anything like it, but how hard would this be to do? what could possibly take this long?
