Best app for monitoring MBP temperature?

+1 for iStats Menus. Been using it for years. If you would like a free app, there's always Macs Fan Control which will show you the temp along with fan RPM.
None your mbp will manage it’s own temperature and shut down or throttle back if it gets too hot.
