Not that I am actively flaunting my iPad, but of course people like to mess with your iPad if you will let them. My favorite way to introduce people to my iPhone was always Koi Pond. Using the blown up version of Koi Pond (still no iPad version) is not nearly as satisfying. Any tips on what App(s) I should use for an iPad newbie?

I emailed The Blimp Pilots asking for an iPad Koi Pond, but have had no response :p

What about that periodic table/elements app? That always impresses me in the demo video!

If I buy that sure, but I have already spent too much to want a $14 app no matter how awesome it looks. It is on my wish list though.

Some of my favorites like Plants vs Zombies are not ones I can just jump right into and display. Right now I tend to let people play Zen Bound 2.

Zoinks, it costs $14? Hmm.

What about the Marvel comic app? Even if you're not into comics (like my wife!), I've managed to impress people with the look and feel of it!

True, that App functions beautifully. I am more looking for something very visually captivating too like Zen Bound 2 or Koi Pond. Magic Window looks interesting.

Show them a demo run of a few things.

For the "ooh, ahh!" factor, show them something like what you said. a "mesmerizing" thing.

But another thing you want to do, is show them how it revolutionizes things we do every day with other objects.
Shot them the maps app.

Show them something like the NYT Editor's Choice, or the USA Today. I personally love the look of Reuters, too. Looks very crisp and simple, but new.

Show them abc player or netflix.

Show them a utility- like Pages or Penultimate or Sundry Notes.

To show them the screen, show them Weather HD. (its only .99)

If youve got friends who like to come out at night i'd say 'star walk'. It blew me away, down side is i dont have any friends to show it off to. ;)

I'm more looking for the "ooh, ahh!" factor. If they are really curious about I would show them the utility apps, but more people just have a passing curiosity and don't seem to be wanting to see me show off a handful of useful apps.

I thought the weather bug app was great. I'd also say just some of the ones that are free like netflix, ABC, and Yahoo! entertainment. I know how sillly that probably sounds. Oh and I showed someone Let's Golf HD and that was impressive to them.

3d4medical

I work in surgery and even though the 3d medical apps are not new they really are cool on the iPad. The free ones don't look as good.

Not a cheap app it's $19.99 but it's full screen not a 2X app like the freebies.

I like the muscle System pro app the best gives full screen in portrait view.

Want to impress without spending any extra cash in the App Store? Use Street View in Maps, and play with Photos.

True. The photos interface is awesome. Apple is damn good at making something so simple be impressive.
