I’m looking for a new house and I live in the east coast where flooding does occur and some houses just got ruined during last weeks tropical storm.

I’m wanting to decide on a house that is elevated where flooding will be less of an issue.

Maybe Google Maps does this but I don’t know. Any guidance is appreciated.

I can't help with the app advice, but look carefully at the cost of flood insurance. It's usually not very cheap.

If he buys a home that's in a flood zone as listed by FEMA, then he has no choice but to buy flood insurance. No lender including the VA will grant a mortgage otherwise. As the other reply noted, check with your local FEMA office for flood zone info.

I don't know if an app either, but the county where the house is located should have a GIS site with various layers you can turn on and off to shoe topographical information, including elevation.

Search for <the county name gis>.
