I use Quizlet a lot on the web, so I'll be giving this a try I suppose:
[app]Touchcards Free[/app]

Looks like it can import Quizlet flashcard sets. Unfortunately, flashcards are only helpful for certain exams.

class hasn't started for me yet, but I have been thinking about "back to school" app arrangements.. but Evernote has come into great use so far. Syncs all your notes to a cloud and it's on both Mac and iPhone.

I like iFlipper although with no updates in a yr I Think the developer abandoned it.


Although if you get stressed easily like I do I strongly suggest Relax with Andrew Johnson. I have had great success with the app and strongly recommend it.

I'll be heading back to school on the 31st.

This is a great post, looks like I'll be at least one app (iHomework or something similar) I'm really bad with keeping track of things and that should help a lot.

My daughter is 13 just received a touch for her birthday. I am hoping to get her o put a few good apps on her touch. not just the name generator and some games etc. thank you keep it up!

I think everyone should put a small discription (like pika) next to the app. Some are obvious, but for others it would be nice to see why you choose it and see if it is worth clicking on. Heres just a few of mine:

[app]Good Reader[/app] - I've got a book in pdf that is 50+mb with hundreds of pages. I can go to a page and start reading some of it.
[app]gflashpro[/app] - can find some good flash cards on common topics.
[app]Simplify Music 2[/app] - stream music from my home computer up on campus where there is wifi everywhere.

Everything else is mostly mail, safari, ical and games.

I don't have many yet, but I HIGHLY recommend [app]iHomework[/app]. (I know op has it, but it's the only one I have, and I love it)

Wonderful planner type of app that calculates grades, keeps track of grades, classes, assignments, due dates, it has a tab for reminders, you can assign whether or not you want it to calculate grades based on points, plug in teacher and class info among other things. Even better is the developer is always updating and looking for ways to improve the app, and really seems to listen to his users(he actually uses macforums as well). Upcoming updates that he mentioned to me that he was looking to hopefully include are wireless sincing of some sort, calendar view and more.

Sorry to go on, and on about it, but I love it!

Great thread though! I recently got my touch, and have been looking for apps that would be useful in my architecture/school studies

I recommend the opensource [app]dictionary.com[/app] if you need an outstanding free and complete english dictionary powered by dictionary.com & thesaurus.com + Google.

Awesome note is pretty good as well. It's a little pricey but it's quite a good note-taking app. I just bought it and have been using it quite a bit.

iStudiez Pro

iStudiez Pro is the best ever, they are about to issue an update and i finally will be able to add holidays and teachers, what lacked really.
Thye promise grades as well, but not in this update unfortunately
