Ok guys, are there any speakers out there that can crank out the bass pretty loudly that could work with my macbook pro? i currently have the creature II speakers, and while they are nice, the sub on it isn't that wonderful. how are the soundsticks in comparison? and does anyone have any other suggestions? i wanna be able to crank dat soulja boy rap music here in the derrty derrty from my computer and make some maaaadd noise, yo. :p :p

anyway, thanks in advance.

I have the soundsticks and they are not bad. The subwoofer is rather powerful and has it's own potentiometer. The combo is good for all sounds from movies over TV, iTunes (all kinds of music) up to the system sounds. Clear and impressive sound.

The design is very nice. No need to hide the sub under the table...

The sticks are very heavy because of a massive metal post.

Good and loud enough for any spontaneous dance party (electronic music - acid trance) here in my living room (when the neighbours are not at home). Sometimes I also enjoy classical concert hall music with them.

I use the Logitech X230 speakers. The subwoofer is on the lowest setting, and already I worry about what my neighbors think of me.

klipsch promedia 2.1's. rock.

I heard the GigaWorks T20 in the stores the other day and was pretty impressed by it. No subwoofer tho. Think it looks cool and the black color definately goes well with my black macbook.

Creative seems to have just launched a bigger version in Asia. Anyone heard the GigaWorks T40 yet? Now I'm undecided if I should wait for this baby.

I consider myself quite the audiophile so I'm not saying this from ignorance when I say that both 2.1 offerings of Bose are absolutely incredible. It is my opinion that they are way over powered for a computer in terms of performance. I would highly recommend just the 2 peice set (Companion 2). I've never heard of such quality come out of such small computer speakers.

its the Bose Companion 3 for me, and they sounds great, way better than my folks home cinema kit!

Since no one has mentioned it, I vote for Jamo i300... comes with an ipod dock/styling and it cracks and can handle bassy music quite comfortably.

Check out the Bose Companion line...kind of on the expensive side, but these things are crazy! It's 2.1 (left + right + sub) but it's amazing.

the kipsch sound str888888 up fly my friends. do they sell them at apple stores or will i need to order them from amazon or somewhere? any retail stores at all sell them?

i love bose speakers, but from my experience with them, the bass is on the low side in both my car and in the wave radio my grandparents have.

These are coming in two days...

A little pricey but initial reviews seem favorable. If space conservation is of the utmost, these would seem an obvious choice:
