Best blu ray player that can stream from a Mac?

Looking for a blu ray player that can stream video files (mkv) from a Mac share. I've checked out the Sony S770 and LG models, but they both only support PC (FAT32) drives.

Also hulu plus and sacd support would be sweet.

Any ideas if there is a player out there that can do this? Thought about Boxee Box but that is just too buggy right now.

Are there any that support exFAT? That would enable you to put full blu-ray rips on a partition without the 4GB file size limit, plus Macs support exFAT

I've had their DVD players, and they are great. Haven't owned one of their BR players, but they're getting rave reviews.

First can we be clear about what exactly you want. The title and first line of your post talks about streaming from a Mac but the second sentance of your post sounds like you want to plug an external drive into the Blu-ray player, so which is it?

I highly doubt you'll find a Blu-ray player that will accept an external drive via usb that is formatted as a Mac file system.

But if you're talking about streaming from a Mac over a network then any Blu-ray player that supports DLNA will work fine.

As for HULU support, I know some of the Sony Blu-ray players support both HULU and Netflix. Take a look at the Sony BDP-S480, it has Netflix and HULU Plus and supports streaming via DLNA.

I would suggest a Playstation 3. I know it has some shortcomings but it has the most bang for your buck and it's constantly being updated. I even found that I can stream native eyetv recordings to the ps3 without having to convert them. My wife wanted to watch vampire diaries a couple days ago. Once the imac finished recording it, I clipped out the commercials (took about 10 minutes) and streamed the HD file to the ps3. It can also do hulu, netflix, and youtube. The major downsides for me is the 4gb file limit for drives connected over USB and the lack of wireless N. Other than that, I think it would suit you well. Also, check amazon warehouse deals. I managed to pick up my 3rd ps3 (160gb) from them last week for only $195. No tax and 4 bucks for overnight shipping.

Sorry for any confusion. I want to steam ripped MKVs from my Drobo, which is connected is my iMac, to the blu ray player. Perhaps I'm asking the blu ray player to do too much, I dunno.

If the Sony can stream those files then that might be the frontrunner cuz it has everything else I want. I really like the Oppo-93, but it's twice as much, and doesn't have Hulu. So I'm torn I guess.

So you want a device with DLNA so you can stream from the Mac across your network. Both the PS3 and the Blu-ray player I posted will stream using DLNA and both support Hulu Plus and Netflix, so no your not asking a Blu-ray player to do too much Now you just need to research which one of the two best fits your needs.

I own a PS3 but being from the UK we don't get Hulu or Netflix so I can't comment on either of those features, but I can tell you I don't use my PS3 to stream video from my network, the main reason being that I don't like the media browsing interface. Don't get me wrong it streams files perfectly from both my PC and my NAS, I just don't like the interface The interface might not matter to you, in which case the PS3 is an excellent choose just for the fact that as well as everything you want you also get a games console

As for the Sony BDP-S480 I suggested, I've never owned or used one so I can't give you an opinion either way. I just posted that one as an example of a device that does everything you wanted.
