Best bluetooth mouse?

Rocketing through the sky!
I recently bought the Apple bluetooth keyboard for my 12" pb and I love it but now I need a wireless mouse to go with it. The only bluetooth mouse I have found thus far has been the apple single-click mouse w/ bluetooth but I would rather have a two button mouse if I could. Anyone know any good bluetooth mice to go with the keyboard? Thanks!
 
The keyboard is nice and sleek with a small footprint.
You basically have 2 choices for a mouse: Microsoft or Logitech.

You have to go to a store and feel the mice. The only good thing I have found about the logitech units is that they're rechargeable.

Microsoft(ironically) seems to be a favorite among mac users for the choice of mouse. The have a multibutton mouse that is bluetooth compatible and has the new 2 dimensional scrolling wheel.

hmm thanks, I kind of figured as much. I like logitech better than MS but I have more trouble finding them at a reasonable price in Vancouver where I live. I may just order one off the net.
 
Yeah usually I prefer logitech products... But for bluetooth mouses, i think MS has them beat on this one. I have a sweet little MS notebook mouse. They really do make great mouses. I have an Apple bluetooth mouse, but eventually i'm gonna switch to the MS one.

Most importantly, you should go to a store and feel a mouse. I prefer the MS mice because it fits like a glove...but the mice are usually made for one hand...usually right but you can probably find a left hander. I have friends with smaller hands that use the logitech, but I am not able to use such a mouse for a long time...

None of Logitech's BT mice require an adapter expect to charge.


I just got this mouse for my sisters. She uses it on a PC laptop, but there is no reason it shouldn't work for OS X (despite the what the requirements say).

I like it because it is small and comfortable. It is very easy to put in her laptop case and take with her where ever she goes.
 
I have the MS BT intellimouse and I like it, feels just right and comfortable in my hand. I had bought it to use with my PB, since I'm using the wired Mighty Mouse on my iMac. However, for traveling it is a bit too large, so then I went with the much smaller, rechargeable Macally micro BT mouse. That one also has the advantage in that I can turn it on and off when traveling. I prefer the larger MS mouse for everday use, and at home when I'm on the PB I use the MS BT mouse. I am anxiously awaiting Apple's wireless Mighty Mouse, though....then I'll buy the wireless keyboard for my iMac. Until then the iMac has both wired keyboard and Mighty Mouse.

The biggest problem with BT mice is the power consumption. While keyboards seem to do well as a bluetooth peripheral, the mice always seem to drain the battery power like it is going out of style... :rolleyes:

True. IMO, an on/offf switch is a necessity.

i meant a dongle or something like that
the v270 has an on/off switch by the way.

The apple store (physical and online) sells the Kensington Pilotmouse Bluetooth Mini. It costs about $70 US, and has 2 buttons and a scroll wheel. If you read the comments on it, they are either way positive or way negative. I've almost bought one a couple of times; but I like to use my ibook in my lap and I'm used to the trackpad.

I guess I've always figured that the fact that apple sells it is some kind of endorsement; I suppose it could also be payola. :p

hmm, okay, you're right, those are the usb wireless mices i was talking about.
anyway, me think the v270 could be a nice mouse for my pbook. anybody here has used it?

I bought the v270 a few days ago and I really like it. Fits in my hand very well and the tracking on it is great. Had absolutely no problems connecting it to my PB. Probably one of the best and cheapest BT mice on the market right now.

I'm a bit hesitant to invest in a bluetooth mouse mainly because of how fast it burns up batteries. My biggest concern is look (as I've yet to find a mouse that is uncomfortable to me) and of course # of buttons.

I figured I'd throw Kensington out there as I stumbled across my wireless one and I really like it (and it seems Kensington is ignored most of the time).

I got the new Logitech V270 for Christmas to use on my latest rev PB 15"
I love it.
It took only a minute to configure the bluetooth settings and bam, it worked.

Love it, Love it, love it.
 
That model is NOT bluetooth and it also requires a dongle.

The purpose of bluetooth is to not have dongles.

Looks like the v400 is a good mouse for a desktop but not a laptop.
I love my combo Logitech keyboard/mouse for my Windoze XP Desktop. the mouse even comes with a charger station.
 
I am in the market for a new one. Which is the best right now. I am getting the new Macbook Pro, and would love for it to match, but not a necessity. Thanks

I use a Kensington Pilot Mouse, and I am very pleased with it. I use it with my PB, and not having to use a dongle is great. Its performance is good, and I have found it suitable for gaming. It does eat batteries though, I replace the batteries every 2-3 weeks. However I use NiMh batteries so battery cost is not an issue.
 
I've had no real problems with a BlueTake mouse (I also found it quite difficult finding a two-button/scroll BT mouse at a reasonable price) it was about NZ$60 (I think that's about US$40) - it's really small which is handy if a little odd at first. They do a slightly larger model with USB power (for when the battery goes flat) as well. I always forget to turn it off but the power lasts 3-4 days.
The Logitech MX900 is around NZ$200!
I'm using an Akuma USB BT adapter (which was also cheap and does headsets)
