Best brand value for RAM

I'd like to upgrade my G5 iSight iMac from 512 to 1.5GB.

Where do you think I can find the best value between price and quality online? Which brands would you recommend?

First thing is to give the Search function of MR a try, we've covered this subject many times.

Your iSight iMac needs DDR2-533 long DIMMs There is only one socket, so you have to maket the hard decision between a 1 Gb and a 2 Gb module

I recommend that you choose a reputable dealer who tests and guarantees compatibility with your model Mac, offers a lifetime warranty, and a no-cost return if it doesn't work.
If you are in the USA, MR members most often recommend Crucial, OWC and Data Memory Systems, my favorite for good price and great service.

The choice is really just a tradeoff between the $14 savings and the lifetime warranty. Both modules have been tested and are guaranteed compatible with your Mac. Once they are in your Mac, the Mac won't be able to tell the difference.

I would spend the extra money for a lifetime warranty. I purchased a 256MB stick for an iMac DV back in 2001. Got the liftime warranty and the ram failed in 2004. This was the only time I have had ram fail, but the company sent a replacement without any hassle.

It is a small price to pay for the lifetime warranty. If the ram fails later and you don't have the warranty, you will regret it.

I ordered it with the 1 year warranty, I'm moving abroad permanently in a few months, so if it fails, I will just buy a new
