I've been looking for a cheap iPhone that will run iOS 12, does anyone have recommendations? I'd like to spend less than $300 USD.

I'd go for a gently used or refurbished SE or 6s, depending on what size you like best. I'd avoid anything older than those models at this point as even though the 5s and 6 will be supported with iOS 12 they are pretty close to the end of their useful life...

That's what I've been thinking, I might opt for a 6s as I like the 4.7 screen size, and the price of the SE seems to be climbing after discontinuation. Still looking for deals on newer models, though

On Oct 19th, AT&T or Verizon will also give you $700 credit ($29.17/month) when you buy two iPhones. Maybe you have to switch carrier to get the credit, i.e., Verizon <-> AT&T.

You have to pay $749 x 2 phones + Tax(Sales tax rate of $1498) - $700. For example, sale tax rate of my county is 6%. So, total payment would be $887.88 for me for two phones.

Since I can sell them for $300 each after two years later, total amount I would spend is $288 for two years for two iPhones, or $144 per phone for two years including Tax.
