I'm wondering if it's a mistake or if Apple is going to release new colors and they are offloading a bunch of stock?? I took advantage of it whatever the case
They have a listing for a 'latest model' at normal price. So they must just trying to clear out old stock.

If you want to see something weird. Check out the grey silicone case. Then click on the now hard to find white silicone case.

Have two Creates with keyboard so passed on it. don't even need the one I did order but...cheep lol
There's no difference in the 'latest' and the cheap 12.9 though, right? Except maybe that magnet to hold the pencil?

I was going to return the Targus folio I bought earlier in the week, and was curious what other cases they have.
I bought the leather Smart Cover/sleeve from apple earlier in the week, I hate spending the money, but they just feel sooo amazing together. I picked up one of the $4.99 ones, but I don't think I can part with the leather one.

Don’t think I’ll bother tho for 10 dollar difference or so (used red card) to deal with returns and driving around

At 5 bucks no brainer
Works perfect too with gen2 I’ll bet the difference is inventory categorization.
I just hope crazy sales for silicone case don’t happen cause I just bought a good shape one off eBay for 35 haha

Probably an inventory thing, and the leather covers being released.
I picked one up, it works fine on the second gen.
As I said above... my guess is the magnet may be a little stronger and will hold the Apple Pencil like the 10.5 Smart Keyboard (and I'm assuming Smart Cover) as seen in this video:
