Best Buy And Apple Releases

Anyone know about how long it takes for Best Buy to get new Apple products once they're released? For instance, if Apple announces that the new MacBook Air's come out on Thursday the 14th, how long until Best Buy has them? Thanks.
 
tagging on to the question...do they often get the Ultimate versions (I'm looking to get the 13" with 4GB), or am I better off just custom ordering online?
 
This cannot be the same situation as an ipad...so I would suspect that you will have no trouble going to an apple store and finding one. I would also bet that Apple will ship within 24 hours.

No need to wait for Best Buy.

Awesome thanks for the quick response, unfortunatly for me Im away on buisness until the end of the month, looks like the air will be waiting for me when I get home than. Although I am considering having it sent to my hotel, not sure I really trust such an expensive item though with hotel staff.
 
And isn't BB offering a similar $100 dollar gift card for Apple purchases?

Do you have to be a student too? Cause $100 dollars to Best Buy > 100 to iTunes, IMO.
 
I think Best Buy usually gets new products (Macs, not necessarily iOS devices) pretty quickly. As in a matter of days. I would venture to say maybe a week at most.

When I got my new MBP last February, the local Best Buy had them one day after they hit the Apple Store.

Normally, same day or next day.

No, just the standard configurations (the ones you see on Apple's website, without customizing).

Yes, they have the same promo. From my experience, BB employees don't care for proof that youre a student if you say you are, but YMMV.
