I just picked up a new 128gb MBA for $799 at BB today. FYI for anybody looking for a reasonable price for a laptop that will probably be phased out soon.

It was $750 just 3 weeks ago. ;)

Still a good deal.
Really? I hadn't seen$750. I got one at $900, then got them to credit me $50 on a price match. Bought another one at $800a little later.

Might have pulled the trigger on a third one at $750 for my 3rd kids.

Oh well.

Yep, Best Buy had select Macs on sale for their President's Day sale event. There was a thread about it too.
The best deals were the 13-inch MBA for $749.99, the 13-inch MBP (2015) for $1000 and core m5 512GB MB for $1250. The 2016 MBP (13-inch nMBP) was also on sale for $1250.

Btw, Best Buy has the MBA on sale quite often these days for $799.99. I would say at least once or twice a month.

Are these advertised prices? Or, do you just luck into them.

Yep, prices advertised on Best Buy's website.

I bought a 13" to try and returned it today. I just couldn't deal with the screen - I'm used to a 15" rMBP.

Good machine otherwise, though, and the keyboard and trackpad are infinitely better than those on the 12" MB (to say nothing of ports!).

Once you use a Retina display, it's virtually impossible to go back to that TN panel. MB Air is my favorite MacBook ever except for that display.

I think there's a lot of truth to that. Only one caveat for me - I have and use a Late 2011 17" and have no trouble going from it to my 15" rMBP and back screen-wise; that might just show the quality difference between the panel in the Air versus the 17" (it's the higher resolution glossy one).

They were advertised in store. Not sure about adverts.

I hear ya, I am coming from an old 2008 blackbook though. I did everything I could to keep that thing running I loved it so much. Finally found the right time to replace I guess. I don't do a lot of memory intensive, graphical work so I should be good for another 8 years lol
