The 12.9 is also on sale starting out at $549.

Here is a link to the sale. I hope all of you who missed out on the very YMMV $299 Walmart deal can get in on this deal. I am showing stock in all models in my area so I doubt it will be much hassle. Keep in mind this is a one day sale. I have the 9.7 pro and it is wonderful.

I just saw this an a deal site that frequent daily. My daughters iPad Air 1 has been acting up ever since we replaced the screen on it so I was looking at getting her the new iPad 2017 model. After seeing this deal I ended up going for the 9.7" Pro. Not sure it will make any difference to her but just felt that the pro gives us a few options to grow into if we decide to in the future (Pen, keyboard).

If nothing else, it will be a nicer screen.

I can’t recommend the Smart Keyboard enough. It’s awesome.

Thanks @Jacoblee23 ! That's a great find. That's a killer price on the 9.7 Pro. I'm tempted to ditch the 12.9 Pro and Mini 4 and get one of those... <William_Shatner>Must. Hold. Out... For... iOS 11.</William_Shatner>

Talk about perfect timing. I just bought an open box 12.9 Pro (2017) yesterday at best buy with their take an additional $50 off sale for my mom...

And right now I just ordered a 12.9 128g for $649 for pick up later today. Once I get it home we'll play around with both units and see if she can get by with last years model. (I'm sure she can because she's only going to use it for consumption, netflix, hulu, youtube, etc). Since she's not even going to scratch the surface on any of the additional features I think the 2017 might be overkill for her. Opinions?

Then comes the hard part... returning the 2017 model (and not keeping it myself). Grrrrrrrr.

I bought a 128GB 9.7 Pro this am for $480 shipped with tax. But then I later saw the 128GB 2017 iPad for $380 from Costco and just picked that up as well. I will compare them both with I get them but for what my kid will use it for (basic games and Netflix) I think the $100 saved is worth it.

I agree. The 2017 iPad is a good machine.

I was tempted by the Costco sale but went with the Best Buy 128GB 9.7 Pro. $450 and tax-free weekend made for a nice discount.

Wow I already own the 9.7" Pro But Really looking forward to this Sale Next Year when the 64GB Pro 10.5" Will be $349.99

Yet, I suspect the 2018 iPad Pro will be OLED and therefore my next Purchase skipping the 10.5" Pro Until Apple gets Rid of the HOME button on iPad.

That's a great price over at costco. I'd consider getting that for my mom, but I'm putting her into a 12.9 because like she says "none of us are getting any younger".

Sooner or later old eyes are gonna get ya.

Finally upgraded from the old Ipad 2 to an Ipad pro 256gb for $545, excellent sale.

Got one today, 128GB Black, $480 after tax, got 12 months no interest since I have a BB card, cash is king but will pay if off in 3-4 months easy. Also sold BB an old iPad 3 for $66 store credit. Maybe could have got more for it, but seemed good to me. That poor thing is so sluggish, time to take it out to pasture.

Why don’t they offer discounts on Cellular models?

It seems carriers are the only ones really to offer discounts on the LTE iPads. The Wi-Fi models are obviously more popular and in demand over the LTE iPad and are More widely available.
