Best Buy Pre-Order safe?

How legit are these time frames? I know Apple won't let them sell it till Friday, but it's showing for Thursday on my end.

Can I trust them enough to pick it up on Friday and cancel my Apple.com pre-order? I don't have a UPS CC to hold it at Friday or an Apple Store anywhere nearby me.

I preordered through Best Buy, I'm confident they'll have them. I get a lot of Apple stuff there because I do Total Tech which comes with Apple Care on all products.

Now my order shows "
A release date for your pre-order has not been announced. We'll let you know when it's ready."

Is yours showing the same thing and is this normal?

Yes, that's what mine says. Worse case, I'll order on Friday, I'm sure all Apple Stores and most Best Buys will have them to walk in and buy. I don't think these will be like the Air Pod Max were; I think they'll be easy to get on Friday.

2) My order had (and still has) the "a release date for your pre-order has not been announced" message

3) But clicking on the "see all pickup locations" link showed (as of yesterday) a pickup date of Friday for all the various stores in my area

4) However, the product page now shows Tuesday 9/27 as the pickup date. It's possible that their initial Friday allotment has been sold out, and Tuesday is the next estimated shipment, but ALL of the stores in my area now show Tuesday (I'd think that they wouldn't have all sold out virtually simultaneously like that)

So, I'm wondering if "release day" doesn't necessarily mean Friday for Best Buy.

Why is the Best Buy site now showing pre-order for pickup on Tuesday, September 27th? I put mine on pre-order for shipping last week but haven't gotten any updates yet. Now it seems like you can't even pick them up in store until the 27th. I am wondering if there is any chance mine will be shipped to me by Friday.

Right. Same here. However I did it Sunday night, and nothing changed till this morning. I did a search on google shopping to see if I can pre order anywhere else, and it says “pickup today” on google and “available nearby”. I click on it and it takes me to the pre-order page. For Tuesday. I think some stores have gotten them, but their online allotment has run out.

Mine says pre-order, worst case, I'll just order a pair from Apple on Friday morning. I'm sure they'll have them in stock. It is strange that all Best Buys now say Tuesday, when originally they said Friday 23rd.

Order placed 9/10, says will ship on Friday. Nothing on ups app but BB uses various carriers for elites.

My experience with pre-ordering Apple stuff from Best Buy is that items generally ship on release day so you don’t get them until MAYBE Saturday but usually Monday or Tuesday. I ordered my AirPods from Best Buy because I had some rewards and the order page says my order will ship on release day and they’re packaging my order. I’m fully expecting not to get them until next week.

Moral of the story here is if you want an Apple product on release day, DO NOT pre-order your items from Best Buy. The company is unreliable & will often wait until the last minute to update statuses, even in the event of a delay.

I hope you're wrong about it this time. This is the first time I've pre-ordered anything through BB. Not the end of anything though if I end up not getting them until next week.

I got email saying it will ship today and delivery tomorrow. I did not order on day of launch when I started with Apple.

Mine shipped yesterday and arrived in my town at 1 am today, but UPS says expected delivery is tomorrow.

I ordered from target when pre orders went up, showed back ordered this morning. Cancelled that order and ordered from bestbuy an hour ago for in store pickup and they are already ready for pickup today. So you should be good, if anything go in store and grab them and just return the shipped pre order When it arrives.

Got an email confirmed by UPS app that iW8 + AirPodsP2 are out for delivery. iW8 originally projected to be delivered next Tuesday.

I ordered from target when pre orders went up, showed back ordered this morning. Cancelled that order and ordered from bestbuy an hour ago for in store pickup and they are already ready for pickup today. So you should be good, if anything go in store and grab them and just return the shipped pre order When it arrives.

My store doesn't have any. First pick up date is actually 9/30. Wow! I am fine with them being delievered tomorrow, just surprised that they made it to my town but yet won't come today.

I preordered the APP2 from a Best Buy close to my house. Picked them up in-store this morning. They are great!
