I just purchased 16" MBP from Best Buy. I also purchased their TotalTech plan (1 year for $199.99). It includes AppleCare+ I would need to purchase 2nd year of TotalTech to take advantage of 3 years of AppleCare+

Is TotalTech worth it? or should I stick to AppleCare+

Do you make a lot of purchases at BestBuy? I do and found TotalTech worth it. Recently I had to refresh a lot of family Apple tech and all of it is covered with AC+. You also get special pricing and access to limited stock (I was able to grab the Xbox Series X). All this makes it worth it for me. If it is your only purchase, it‘s cheaper to to stick with AC+.

I rarely buy from BB because of their lame return policy. But the 60 day return period from TT is compelling

So does TotalTech give you apple care for two years or just one year?
That’s confusing. To get the full 3 year coverage of AppleCare+ I would have to pay for 2nd year of TotalTech. The cost of TT vs AC+ is the same.

AppleCare+ Plan for Macbook
begins on the date of this receipt and includes up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage every 12
months, each subject to a service fee of 99 for screen damage or external enclosure damage, or $299 for other damage, plus applicable tax. Your Plan will be paid as a benefit of your Best Buy Totaltech membership for 21 months while your membership remains active. The price of
this Plan is $11.08 per month. You can also separately cancel your Plan at any tine by calliny 1-800-133-5778. The terns and conditions for AppleCare+ and your Best Buy Totaltech membership are at BestBuy.con/PlanTerms.

Used to work GS. If you have to ask, then it’s probably worth it. That’s the rule with Apple. Other rule is if you have to ask how to upgrade specs, just to try to max out what you can.

In its case.
I would go with AC alone. I don’t know how much it would cost for your MBP, but it’s just $79 for two years on my iPad Air and around $200 for two years on my 13. To me that makes more sense than the $199 annual TotalTech cost.

Unless you have multiple items, it seems going with AC makes more sense. Where it might work out is if you get say the MBP 16, AC for that is 400 I think.

I have both, total tech and AC+. I bought MacBook 16" and Studio display with 3 year AC+ from Apple Store but I bought Beats fit pro, AirPods and other stuff under total tech at BB. If you only buy one Mac than get AC+ but if you will keep buying electronics get Total Tech. Total tech gives you automatic AC+ for apple stuff. If its a 3 year AC+ possibility, BB told me you can buy TT for 3 years and keep it under warranty with AC+.

Total tech is also good for other things like if you need to mount a TV on wall, install security cameras, install dishwasher, BB will come and do it for you at no charge with TT. Also they will deliver same day to your home but its a nice option if you have a family or buy electronics regularly.

the only reason I bought the Mac stuff AC+ is because I dont know if ill keep TT for 3 years. I'll keep it for 2 years for sure. 60 day returns are also nice although I don't like doing that.
