I thought I’d start A thread where folks can discuss and recommend bags and backpacks the will fit and work well with this new generation of iPads. Certainly everyone’s needs will vary due their equipment collection and use scenario. So please suggest use and capacity of the bag or backpack.

I love all the stuff from peak design.

Got my retrospective 30v2 the same day as the iPad and it fits great in the laptop slot.

I’m currently using two magazines to addsome extra thickness before I get a case though because it’s not the thickest panel for such a slim device.
I may get some foam pads and microfibre fabric to make my own insert for peace of mind.

Edit: Ended up getting a case from amazon and a zip up laptop bag/skin thing for the ipad to sit in. Had no problems when travelling with a full kit even on a packed train.

I like my Crumpler Proper RoadyCamera Sling Bag 7500. Its like the Crumpler Million Dollar bag but has better flaps around the compartment. There is a separate spot for the iPad. I didn't want my bag to scream camera bag. Plus when I'm shooting I can just set the bag on the ground without it rolling.

Here is a similar model from AUS

I found a camera distributor on eBay because it was cheaper than Amazon.

I also love my Peak Design bag. I own an Incase bag too and a LowePro. Peak design takes up most of the time

I'm personally using an ONA Prince Leather bag for my 11" Pro and my Leica M 240 gear when I'm out for photos. ONA Union Street for my EDC bag for grad school work, headphones, Leica Q, etc.

I use a Brixton messenger in canvas. Fujifilm gear. Holds a lot, but of course it cane get heavy.

I like the aesthetics of the ONA bags, but they're terribly uncomfortable after a few hours. This is where I prefer the Think Tank Retrospective bags with the padded strap.

Well, I’m revisiting this thread as I’m of on a trip/flight to Boston area soon. Tried the Peak Design 10l sling, but sent it back. Barely fits my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9” w/Apple folio. My concern was the tension the laptop/iPad pocket put on the top and bottom of the in place iPad.

Otherwise, the 10l would have been a winner. Well maybe except the thinly padded sling strap.

I dug out an old Incase sling, and it fit the iPad better and had a sling strap that was padded better. But, I doubt the Incase was as weather resistant as the Peak Design. The Peak design overall storage was incredibly adjustable!

I do have a ThinkTank Urban Design backpack, but I don’t want to struggle with two straps on the flight or around town. I’m only toting FUJIFILM XPRo2 with 23mm, 35mm and 50mm f2 lenses. I wish I could find a decent bag. Im also carrying the aforementioned iPad and Bowers and Wilkins PX headphones.

My only, owned, alternative is a ONA Brixton messenger bag in canvas. Downside is the overall weight, from the strap, and I’m not sure about rain resistance.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm, still using the ThinkTank Retrospective 30 V2, Always been a fan of the retrospective range for a few reasons. I've got A zip up Neoprene laptop skin that only cost £4 inside the laptop pouch for extra padding and I've had no issues with it. There is plenty of room for the 12.9" iPad.

I've still got a couple of magazines in there out of paranoia but really they are probably overkill. That said i am considering picking up a few cheap plastic chopping boards instead to throw in there. Every time i pick up the iPad the 'holy crap this is thin' feeling makes me want to store it in a steel box.

Peak Design Everyday Messenger 15". Slight modification to mine, just in case the iPad decides to bend :)

Haven’t received my iPad Pro yet, but it will fit perfectly in my AER Day pack that I use for work every day. It has a slot for a laptop and a slot in front of that for a tablet.
