Among these phones, which phone do you think will have the best camera? Is it safe to assume Apple could extend its gap to the other flagship devices further with the rumored new 12MP camera on the 6s?

Currently the s6, we won't know about the one plus 2 or 6s until after their release.

It's entirely pointless to declare a best device based on two released and two unreleased products, we can only hypothesise and then it would be merely subjective.

As for Apple extending a gap, the S6 has in 99% of circumstances a superior shooter than the iPhone 6/6+, but that's not saying the iPhone 6 & 6+ are poor we know they are excellent in their own right. But i just use this to demonstrate that they don't have any 'gap' current to which they can extend further. In many ways they are playing catchup.

Basically if they go 12 mp and improve sensor then we would likely have much parity across the flagships devices that there still wouldn't be this 'gap' to extend.

Time, because it rules EVERYTHING!
Apple is good, but not the best, we will have to wait to see what the 6S brings to the table as it desperately needs a few more pixels, try zooming in on an iPhone photo and you'll see what I mean.
I believe the battle will be between:

Galaxy S6
Xperia Z5
Nokia 650

iPhone 6S Plus
Galaxy Note 5
LG G4
One Plus Two
Nokia 650XL

Galaxy S6 Mini
Xperia Z5 Compact
iPhone 6S

MST3K said the One Plus 2's camera is pretty good, but not at the level of the S6.
LG G4 is really good, but not as consistent as the S6.
Iphone 6s isn't out yet, though the 6 has about as good a camera with 8mp can get.
S6 will have the best camera of all mentioned. Quote this.

I don't think any of the cameras you've mentioned touch the Lumia 930, and I've tried them all. If the Lumia 950 operates similarly, that's the camera phone to beat.

The s6 shoots better pictures I'm my own experience. The 930 has a great camera, but the s6 surpasses it.

I currently have a 930 which I keep mostly because of its camera but in my extensive camera usage the s6 point and shoot is more consistent.

S6 for sure, closely followed by the G4.

Ask again in 24 hours. Then again once the iPhone 6S drops.

Just wait for DXOMark review. Currently, they rate the Galaxy S6 with Samsung's own ISOCELL sensor #1. Unless Samsung sells the sensor to other phone manufacturers they'll likely remain #1 for the foreseeable future.

Ranking is on right side of page and must be viewed with desktop browser.

My guess it'll be S6, G4, 6s then OnePlus 2.

I believe Samsung is using Sony optics in S6.

S6 uses both Samsung ISOCELL and Sony IMX240. If you're lucky like I did you got the ISOCELL. One of my major camera pet peeves is unnatural sky color. ISOCELL is accurate whereas Sony tend to be bluish/purplish.

Is there any other way to tell which one your device has, besides comparing pics or opening the device :p ?

You can also dial a service code and check firmware. If you have LS in the firmware you have Sony and LL you have isocell. I have Isocell on my Edge.

If you use Aida64

If under devices you see cam firmware as slsi_s5k2p2 you have the isocell. Anything other is the sony
