Was wondering which is the best case for ipod touch. I saw some speck cases at the store and liked them, but was wondering what people with some personal experience with any case they bought.

Which case did you buy and how much?

i recently bought a proporta Apple iPod touch Alu-Leather Sheepskin Case. It has a integrated ‘Screen Saver System’. Using a sheet of rigid, lightweight aircraft grade Aluminium, the case is lined to protect your delicate screen from crushing and impact shocks. It all looks very good but makes Your ipod thicker on the way!

I have the iFrogz Treadz. It is a thicker silicone, has been treated with an anti dust something or other and has a cut for the sensor.

i have that. its not that great. its hard to do stuff like move icons onto a different page and such. if you're slightly tilted, the ipod will also fall out since it isnt tightly in there. the relatively larger depth of this case also makes it an annoyance to hit the home button. the magnetic-closing system is a nice touch though.

after looking at many cases, i suggest an iClear or an iSkin silicone case.

I tend to like the rubber cases you get for an ipod touch.

My friend has the solid plastic one and it just seems so bulky.

The rubber comes on nicely and keeps your touch in tip-top shape

depends on what you want

I think the best case is definitely subjective. What do you want? Something to keep it safe when you throw it in your backpack and can be easily left there, while the iPod stays "naked" when you use it? Or you you want a constant plastic sleeve to encase it at all times?

I like the small size of the iPod so I don't want a plastic case to enclose it at all times. I also really like the natural and warm feel of wood, so I experimented and made some wood cases that are really nice. You can see them here:

But the main point is this - do you like eye catching, unique, and handcrafted cases or mass produced, common plastic cases? :)

I have had the DLO flipcase for about 2 weeks now and it works great. I am not worried about dropping it, or throwing it in my bag. The only question is are you going to be carrying the device around in your hand or are you going to have it at your belt, if so, you might want to consider a different style..
but i would recomend it.

I don't usually like silicon based case. but I found only one which can be resist dust, smudge. it is speck armor silicon case. first time I was highly doubt it. but since I have used it, it is unbelievable. there is no dust on the case at all. I put it on my pocket (jacket). no problem. almost every silicon case I experienced is getting dust a lot. but Speck is excepted. it's very durable, well protected yours. it's come with screen protector. go to apple store. get one.

I got that one as well. Beautiful!

Based on the Apple website, it appears that the new 32 GB iPod Touch is the same size as the 16 GB version. Nevertheless, I hope someone who gets it can say for sure it will fit the older cases because I'll be buying a 32 GB Touch pretty soon and will need a case.

You don't want a case. Do what I do:

When it is new keep it in a soft pouch like those wool sock type things (or an Oakley style glasses case.

Get gradually slacker about keeping it in the case.

Eventually just put up with the back scratches and enjoy it case free in all its glory!:)

It is glass fronted and really difficult to scratch.

Hard cases

Using a soft case is okay if you keep it on your body at all times, but I like having a hard case so I can throw it in my backpack or whatever.

The wood case provides ample protection while looking classy at the same time, IMHO.

Reflect

I bought the reflect case (Griffin 19.99) cause it makes it look sexy while giving all the protection I need. Just don't drop it or it breaks really easy. I bought it to protect from scratches and the back of the case is a black hard plastic so it makes it look nice and protects better than the front, which is really shiny and looks neato. On the old iPods, the reflect cases were hella cooler because they covered the whole case in the one-way mirror so the screen would be concealed behind the mirror...but this is a cool iTouch adoption :apple:

I'm using an iSkin Touch. the screen film is a pain to get on without bubbles and airborne dust getting under it while putting it on, but once you get it on it's perfect
