Apologies if this information is somewhere readily available on this forum, but I couldn't seem to find it.

I'm looking for a simple, cheap (but good) PCIe Adapter for a 2.5" SATA III drive (Samsung EVO 850).

Currently, I'm looking at the OWC Accelsior S, but I'm wondering if there is something equally good, but a little cheaper.

With the advent of M.2 NVMe SSDs, the market for that type of adapter has dried up, along with what's available in the market place. Back in the day I had a couple of Apricorn adapters, a Solo and a Duo. Sold those years ago.

There's a used Solo on eBay:

Amazon has the Accelesior S (Same Price as OWC):

They also have this one - I know nothing about it, but there is no magic associated with a device like this, so should work, and Amazon's return policy with allow you to return it if it's a no-go:

That thread posted above is way out of date. Most of the cards listed are no longer being manufactured.

I purchased this one last month, seems to be working fine so far. I just use it for a Samsung 1TB 860 EVO SATA III 2.5" Internal SSD for an emergency boot drive clone (using CCC updated daily) where I don't need speed. Saved me last night when I had to boot from it.

I am still running an Apricorn Duo in my 5,1 as a boot drive - never a problem so far, but no NVMe!
