Toronto!
the other day my lovely educational promotion ipod classic came to my door. i knew of its newest non-scratch face, which would allow me to disregard a protective case and allow me to finally dock my ipod with a dock. forget the apple dock, its lame for the pricetag.. so i decided with a little research.. i could make my own out of lego. i had tons around the house anyways, plus lego is fun! using the given dock adapter this job would be easy. i hotglued the dock cable to the adapter and then using zip ties, i clamped around the dock release buttons (erm, without doin this, itll be tough to pull your ipod off). k so whats left is to build a badass case. here is mine!

how cool? its without a doubt just as good and cheaper than the apple one. i hope ive inspired some of you guys to try making one of your own. you dont need lego either, ive seen some made out of wood, some of the ipod boxes etc. get creative and post em!

Nicely done!

I made a makeshift "dock" on the train once. Was going to see my girlfriend and put a film on my iPod. Got tired of holding it up so I pushed my phone and some other junk from my bag together to make a little stand. The looks I got using socks to prop it up :D

hey that lego idea is awesome; i kinda wanted to intregrate something directly into my ikea jerker desk, but wasn't 100% sure where, and since i'm always rearranging stuff to clean up the desk and reorganizing, i'd be too scared to set cut the desk only to have to move where the ipod was and have to recut or patch the hole, etc.

anyway, here is something i made as potential advertising materials for the tshirt business. basically it's a business card scored in specific places (found this idea on instructables.com), it could easily hold up ipods, phones (iphone anyone?), etc. check it out:
