I'm about to purchase a macbook (black or white I'm not sure), and really want to keep it clean and pristine for as long as it lasts.

If I have a cover or protector on a white macbook, the discoloration won't happen right? It's just from contact with the wrists, and not exposure to air???

What are the best covers, skins and protectors for the preservation and aesthetics of the macbook?

-Moshi Palmguard: http://www.aevoe.com/moshi/palmguard.htm
-Best Skin Ever: http://www.bestskinsever.com/servlet/the-Lap-Tops-cln-Apple/Categories
this seems to be the best because it covers every part
-Speck Plastic Protector

I've read some reviews that said the protector scratched the macbook
-Marware

Which one(s) should I get? Any other recommendations?

I've got the Speck Hardcover case, its good thus far, no problems at all.

Its a bit of a pain to take off, but other then that i trust it in protecting the exterior of my laptop, its solid.

BestShieldEver vs InvisibleShield

You may want to look at InvisibleShield as well, if you are looking at BestSkinsEver. I've read some reviews on the products from these two companies and they do similar jobs, except that InvisibleShield offers a lifetime warranty, thus a much higher price.

Some reviewers have said that they were able to receive a replacement skin from InvisibleShield because they had problems installing the initial skin. You have a certain amount of time to set the skin before the solution dries. The InvisibleShield's website has sample installation videos for an iPod, which will give you and idea of what's going to be involved.

I purchased a speck case and it's been doing its job. I did consider buying the InvisibleShield or the BestSkinsEver, but did not want to have to mess with the solution and installation. I'm sure it's similar to applying window tint in a car, if that helps you get a visual.

I also chose the speck case over the tint because some posters mentioned that the MBP can get dented because it's aluminum, so the hard case seemed better.

The spec case adds lines and contours to the appearance, which I feel takes away from its sleek look. Of course, it's all a matter of personal opinion. Overall, the speck case has been working out well...so far.

Still have yet to decide, but I just found these ***** amazing protectors

www.macstyles.com

Their protectors cover the top and up to the whole wrist and surrounding area. They leave an opening for the Apple logo on the top. Does that area ever scratch, or is the bottom the part that usually scratches?

Just how easily does the macbook scratch?

The Marware pack is great thats what I got for my MBP and niver had a problem with it, one of the best laptop products I have ever had.
