Best developer (coding) app?

so I've been dabbling into web development and some JavaScript on PC/Mac and there's an awesome program called sublime text which is a godsend for developers where it makes certain elements different colors for easy reading. Also has auto complete for things like tags where you type a few letters and you can hit tab and it'll finish the rest for you.

Trying to make my iPad more of a serious work device and wonder what app comes close to the computer counterpart? At least it'll justify maybe going for the 12.9" iPad with the smart keyboard.

I'm not sure if this is something you're looking for or not. But our app hyperPad allows you to create mobile games and interactive apps on the iPad then publish them to the App Store. Our app works great on iPad Pro, and really takes advantage of that extra screen space.

It's a really powerful app that is as capable as desktop platforms like Game Salad, or even Unity (at least for 2D).

There's really only one app you should be looking at and that's CODA. Also check out rollapp.com, your able to stream Linux applications through Safari, very handy. Though without a mouse, coding on a iPad PRO is simply a pain in the butt, actually coding in general on an iPad, ANY IPAD, is just to much of a pain and if I were you, simply buy a MacBook or another laptop. You can grab a ThinkPad X240, 8GB, 190GB for like $250 on eBay, add another 8GB in it for around $40, they make great development machines as you can install any OS on them, including OSX. An iPad is simply not a decent development machine or even a productivity machine for that matter, regardless of how many people tell you differently.

There's also Textastic (text/coding editor) and Pythonista (Python IDE).

Both are nice but due to Apple's restrictions on executable code and the lack of a central, user accessible file system it can be somewhat frustrating.

I use a mouse very sparingly, if at all, in a coding editor (though maybe that referred to streaming desktop apps).

The missing user accessible file system in iOS is the biggie IMO - that's by far the most important difference between my laptop and an iPad (if I could just open an iOS terminal - an on-device one, not ssh - and do 'brew install python3' etc I'd probably sell my personal laptop - work provides one anyway).
