Best document picker/provider

Hello,

I'm trying to find the best app for managing document, cloud and nas access.

I'm fiddling around with goodreader and readdles pdf expert/documents. Didn't try transmit yet because it's too expensive for not being sure it works for me.

Goodreader seemed to have solved all my problems for accessing my cloud services and my nas drive and syncing a document folder from there to my ios devices.
BUT goodreader doesn't seem to have the ios document picker and provider functionality. If I'm in an app like Pages, I cannot open a file from goodreader from there.
I don't want to create hundreds of copies of files not knowing which one the newest is. I want a document "locker" that does what I want and where other apps can have access and read/write from/to.

Does something like that exist?

I think the only way to accomplish this is to choose a cloud service that all of your apps support. Dropbox seems to be the most popular, and most apps I have seen can read and write from Dropbox. I use OneDrive, and while most apps seems to support that, I have come across many that do not, so I am sometimes stuck having to use the "Open With" command from within Documents which causes an extra copy of that file to be opened.

However, if you don't save it from within the other app, and you just use "Open With" once again to open the file back into Documents, then Documents can save it back to your cloud service and you don't have to worry about multiple copies of that file floating around. It only starts to get confusing if you save extra copies of that file in each app you are using it in. If you use Documents as your central location and open everything from there, and then open everything back to there when you are finished, then no extra copies will be floating around.

However, I want to rely more on my local cloud from my nas.

It's such a pain actually to built up a workflow for such an easy thing, accessing local and remote files without having copies everywhere around.

If goodreader just could be accessed from other apps, I would be happy.

Is there a similar app that does this?
