We use Final Cut Pro on a mac pro for the main workstation. I purchased an iMac (20", 2.16 G CD2) to use as a second workstation. (my wife does 85% of the video work - so she got the mac pro! - I bought the iMac for myself as my main machine and to do some -15% FCP work)

My question is: what is the best drive configuration for FCP on the imac?
I plan on getting an external FW800 drive for storage - but am wondering would it be better to put the OS and User files on and boot from the external Firewire 800 drive and use the internal 250G eSata drive as the video scratch? Or use the external drive as the scratch disk ? or will it make much difference?
