Looking for a backpack/sling that can carry a DSLR and a couple other things, but not a fullsized backpack.

I just picked up this Thule backpack, it's a good deal and I like th backpack. It's not meant for a camera so I'm going to get a Kamaroo insert to make it one.

The Lowepro Pro Runner 200 AW I've had for years now, I've ran around all over the world with it, had tripods hanging off of it, and it's still my go-to backpack.
Lowpro have a very good bag finder on their website where you chose bag type and what you want to put in it. Then it short lists the results.
There are many different types of backpacks and you might want to specify what your needs are.
Whether you go with a Thinktank or a Lowenpro or maybe skip a "photo" backpack and create a custom backpack designed for your needs. Some people opt for more of a "sling" bag to get fast access to equipment rather than having to take off their backpack to get to the equipment. Again, you might want to list your "must haves" and "needs" so people can offer up their experience with backpacks.

I have a full sized Tenba backpack but love throwing the Timbuk2 insert in my messenger bag when I only need a body and two lenses. It's inconspicuous and there's plenty of room for other items.
I've recommended the bag I have in another thread, but here it is again: http://www.lowepro.com/photosport (the 200 AW). I've been travelling a lot this last year and this bag is perfect. It fits my 650D, wide-angle lens, telephoto lens and two primes PLUS all the usual gear (laptop, tablet, filters, sunglasses and all the rest). You can even stow a tripod on the base of it. If you need an all-in-one bag that's a really decent size then this doesn't disappoint.
