Hey guys,

I really need some help with this. I'm looking for some earphones in the price range of $70-130.

What I'm looking for are some earphones that sound good and have really good noise isolation that are great for listening to metal. Specifically metal.

It seems that whenever I listen to metal some really expensive earphones that have great reviews, all I get is a really harsh sound thats really hard on my ears. (keep in mind that I have a Zune, which has no EQ)

Surprisingly, the earphones that have sounded the best to me for metal are the Zune Premium V2 earphones that came with my Zune. :| The are pretty damn good for listening to metal, but at times it seems like all of the frequencies are being mushed together and I cant hear anything clearly. Im looking for something better now.

I've heard good things about these, and these.

Also these:

Can anyone help out?

Thanks.:)

Edit: I also want to make it clear that none of the metal I'm using to judge a set of earphones has bad production.

Ones that go to 11 obviously. You know, because it is one louder!

It depends what type of metal you will be listening to.

Also, your best bet is actual headphones, not earphones. They cannot produce the same range or bass that headphones can.

REALLY not interested in full size headphones. But thanks anyways.

I'll just head on down to Head-fi.org

I'm a metalhead, and I got myself the Sennheiser CX 680. They have a great sound isolation and with the fins, they really stick into place. The sound is top notch, with a clean bass. Look for reviews, they are some of the most recommended earbuds for the ipod.

I've read that they will break pretty easily. Plenty of people have written, "they sounded great, before they died"

I'll consider them anyways, because I pretty much baby all of my stuff.

I listen to a lot of rock, and some metal and my Klipsch Image s4 sound great. I didn't get the is4 or whatever the ones with the remote and microphone on the cord, although I really wish I would've.

Get the V-Moda Remix Audio headphones. They recently came out, and update to an already great line of fairly inexpensive headphones. I think they run about $80 on Amazon right now and definitely the best bang for your buck. I listen to a ton of metal music and a ton of bass heavy electronic music and these are definitely the way to go.

Right now I use AKG K430 to listen to the rock and metal, not too bad, I believe there are much more better earphones to select for you.

My point about type still stands. If you're listening to traditional heavy metal that has a lot of highs (both in the guitars and vocals). However, if you're listening to doom, 'nu' or other types with down tuned guitars, you'll want more low end emphasis. It's also good to invest in a full size set for home only. In ears can't beat them.
