I googled it, and got some help from google. I added their code to my page, http://www.moonhelpline.org/. It doesn't work right now, but I think it will once Google indexes my page.

Do you think this is good enough? Or should I look into creating a searchable database on my server? I only have basic knowledge of this sort of thing, but I would be willing to learn it if it wasn't too daunting.

It depends on what your site is made up of. If it's dynamically generated, and the content is stored in a db, then it's pretty easy to search. MySQL for instance, has a built in search function and can even sort results for you.

If your site is static pages, you need to index it, or have someone else (google) do it.
There are a few free spiders out there. Check out phpdig.net and isearchtheinternet.com for solutions

I think I might be in over my head with this one. I tried many different mailing list/newsletter scripts, that always ended up with a dead end. I always got some error message.

I'm using Uplinkearth. They have a "www" folder where you put all your site content. Then they have a "databases" folder, which presumably has all the persmissions loaded into it. I have created a virtual folder (so I can navigate to the admin panel through a browser) that leads to the "database" folder. It always gives me an error when I try to change any of the admin info, try to add an email address, it always says it cannot connect to the server.

Any ideas? Hopefully someone can help. Thanks in advance!
