Can anyone provide any suggestions on how to transfer the music library from an old (possibly Gen1) iPod Touch (iOS 2.2.1) to an iPhone 6s Plus (iOS 12.4) without going thru iTunes? I've tried the demo for iMazing, but it hangs during the transfer to the phone when I tried transferring a few songs individually. So, I don't want to make the purchase until I'm sure it'll work. So far their Tech Support hasn't solved the problem for me.

There are lots of YouTube vids suggesting this or that solution, but it's difficult to determine what's really legit.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Didn't have any issues with music transfer in iMazing since iOS 11. How exactly are you doing it? Exported tracks to desktop from iPod, then drag&drop to Music section on iPhone?

NO - I finally got it to work by:

1. Connect iPod (ONLY) to PC.
2. Copy iPod music to folder on PC.
3. IMPORTANT STEP: Disconnect iPod, and connect iPhone to PC.
4. Copy PC Folder music to iPhone.

The key thing was to NOT have BOTH the iPod and iPhone connected to the PC at the same time.

Wow, nice catch! Thanks for the info, good to know something new. :)
