I'm having to create some EER diagrams for my databases class, and I was wondering if there was a good one available for Mac that would be good to use. I found a few diagram tools on MacUpdate, but wasn't really sure if they were what I wanted. My instructor suggested xfig on Unix or Microsoft Visio...so that doesn't really help me much. I know (or think) you can do something similar in Word, but not exactly sure how. Any ides would be helpful :)

I don't really know what EER is, but since you mentioned Microsoft Visio, you should check out OmniGraffle. One of the best-designed applications I've ever had the pleasure of using on any platform. It does support Visio XML import/export in case you need compatibility with others.

I own the pro version, which has some nice extra features, so make sure you check out the feature lists for both the standard and pro versions if you decide to buy it.

I used the Omnigraffle that came with my Powerbook in my Database Management class and it worked perfectly and the prof was impressed since it has little OSX and Linux and Windows logos too.

Thanks everyone! That was really helpful, I have OmniGraffle on my PowerBook as bundled software, and I downloaded the EER diagram add-on from the extras page. I'm sure it will be 200x better than using Word.

Sorry to disappoint you pknz that it wasn't about beer :)
