I am looking for another 3gs (16 or 32 gb) now I’ve sold the 3.1.3 32gb new bootrom.

I was wondering, which firmware, baseband and bootrom is best for jb and unlocking? with the least amounts of reported issues with wifi dropouts, weak signals, unexpected stuck in recovery/DFU and others) that I should be looking out for. Just want a problem free iphone 3Gs

Firmware: 3.1.2 or below *
Bootrom/iBoot: 359.3 (not 359.3.2)
Baseband: 04.26.08

* Note: Phones with stock 3.1+ firmware will have the 05.11.07 baseband. 04.26.08 is preferable to 05.11.12 because it will allow you to use the ultrasn0w unlock, which avoids the WiFi and signal dropout problems associated with blacksn0w. To have this baseband, a phone will have to be on 3.0.1 or earlier or have been previously updated only using custom firmware made with PwnageTool.

3.1.3 pwned with custom ipsw on 4.26.08 bb is working great for me. Utrasn0w used to unlock as well.

However, as stated above, this was only feasible coming from a previous pwnage tool jbreak at 3.1.2 (and earlier). I agree that 3.1.2 is probably the place you want to start providing you have the right bb (4.26.08).

Good luck!
