Hey there, i currently use Extensis X1, It gets the job done, but it is often slow, freezes and just slows down the computer. I would say fonts and font management really are the biggest problem with my computer, it really slows it down. anyway i was just looking to see what other options there are that others can recommend.

You could try Linotype's Font Explorer. It's free...

I use Suitcase 10 at the mo and that seems perfectly adequate for home and work but although we have a reasonably large collection, we only use a small number of sets at one time — mainly the corporate set.

No matter what the Mac, if you're going to have 1000's of fonts activated at once, it's going to choke thngs up.

But if not, I suspect that you may have other problems more hardware-related than just a few fonts. What kind of Mac do you have and how much RAM is in there?
