Best Font Manager

Hey all, I am looking for a font manager that can organizer fonts easily and turn them on or off etc. I use design and media creation apps a bit and i am getting annoyed with having billion of fonts when i wanna pic one from the list. Only cause some fonts don't show up properly in some programs (ie: the regular version shows up as the bold condensed version in final cut).

Any know if this is a font problem or just bad font management?
Linotype? Veenix? Suitecase?

Use Suitcase X1 at home and at work and am not impressed... have no idea what Suitcase Fusion is like but don't feel like spending any more money on Extensis. We may move to Linotype FontExplorerX as we deal with a small number of fonts being an inhouse corporate setup, not given to many uses of different typefaces...

Linotype FontExplorer is free and does a fairly good job.
It also has an iTunes-like interface for browsing and purchasing fonts.
I like it.

By far the best font management tool out there right now is Linotype. It is my opinion coz I use it everyday, but it is also the opinion of many professionals and knowledgeable people that work in the typography industry. Some of the reasons for this is that the program does not slow down your computer, and it is supported on the new Intel macs. Its free and it is a very complete program where you can organize, activate and preview fonts you can also fix problems when there's font conflicts. The program also keeps the fonts you had previously activated, activated even if you close the program completely, and when you open a new doc that has some text set to a particular typeface that you don't have activated at that particular moment, linotype will automatically activate it, if you have it on your system.

I was using Extensis Suitcase, but it is pretty slow and it works horrendously bad on the Intel Macs. aside from this problem it is a good program, but after using this 2 programs and others, Linoype is doign it for me.
