Hey, I'm new here. I just have a question. What gamepad should I buy for my Mac? It's a Macbook Pro with Lion. Because I have Lion, I have had troubles with previous gamepads because the CDs contained PowerPC applications, so please recommend something with recent software. Thanks!

Most gamepads will work in fact all I would say should work if you use a control mapper like this:
Click.

Should work fine with the Xbox 360 controller.

That's not really a gamepad. It's more one of those keyboard analog stick thumb hybrid...things. Works well if you're big into MMOs and sims, but for fast paced games that need a gamepad, it sucks.

I say get the Xbox 360 pad. It's the best controller I've ever used. It's nice, responsive, and fits comfortably in your hand.

The Logitech F-510 is an excellent X-Box compatible controller (X-input) that with the flip of a switch also supports the older Direct Input standard for older games. You don't need any disc for it. Just plug it in. It is shaped like a PS2/PS3 controller which personally I like. It has a rumble feature if you like that (can be turned off also). This is a corded controller which I prefer myself.

In my experience, Logitech makes quality peripherals that hold up to a lot of use. I'd highly recommend this gamepad that I enjoy using myself.

Hey, I heard you can use a PS3 controller as a gamepad, but I've heard about a 'pass code' that you have to use that many people have problems with. I'm kind of skeptical about using my PS3 controller on my Mac because of this. Is it a good idea to use it?
