Has the Radeon VII the boot screen on cMP whit Mojave?the best for resolve is also the radeonVII in a cMP
Pre-boot configuration support with MP5,1 had the official support ended with Mac Edition cards (eVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition and Sapphire HD 7950 Mac Edition). All newer GPUs have to be third party flashed to have pre-boot configuration support, since they are UEFI/GOP while MP5,1 is EFI/UGA.Has the Radeon VII the boot screen on cMP whit Mojave?
Is it possible stay onboard my old r9 270x only for booting and then use the new Radeon VII?Pre-boot configuration support with MP5,1 had the official support ended with Mac Edition cards (eVGA GTX 680 Mac Edition and Sapphire HD 7950 Mac Edition). AMD Radeon VII is a GPU card that only has UEFI support, GOP pre-boot configuration support, and only will show boot-screens with Macs that have support native GOP support, Mac mini 2018 (via eGPU) and 2019 Mac Pro (eGPU and PCIe). No third party flashing support for VII.
Said that, OpenCore has a work-in-progress pre-boot configurations support for GOP GPUs with MP5,1 and works enough already with AMD Radeon cards like RX 580, Vega and VII.
Possible is, with external PSU or Pixla's mod, but it's not recommended. Is it possible stay onboard my old r9 270x only for booting and then use the new Radeon VII?
What would be the point? Is it possible stay onboard my old r9 270x only for booting and then use the new Radeon VII?
Thermals won't be a problem, while power could be, but the major problem is that RTX cards require UEFI Windows installs and MP3,1 only have CSM/legacy support for Windows.I have a Mac Pro 2008 3,1 running Windows 10 that I am upgrading. I am thinking of installing a
EVGA GEFORCE RTX 2080 SUPER BLACK GAMING card. These cards draw a lot of power. I am concerned that the Mac Pro case cant dissipate this heat. Anybody care to comment?
