Hi there, i have recently installed Mojave on my late2013 (on an ssd). And experience some latency, issues. I want to push the latency down, and i need the best compatible drivers for this, for the imac running Windows10.

Is there anyone who can help met out?

Nvidia 2017 drivers seem to help a lot, but i need TCPIP.SYS and NDIS.SYS drivers for example that hopefully result in lower latency than that i experience now.

I hope to find a latency specialist here, that can help me push the latency down to the max.

I'm a little confused - are you referring to Mojave or Windows 10? Are you using a DAW, an external sound card, or both?

Can you describe your workflow (which programs you're opening, what steps you take) and at which point you're experiencing latency issues? Also is this with audio latency or MIDI?

Please quote this in your reply and I'll do my best to help.

Hi, sorry for the confusion, i am running Windows10 Bootcamp on Mojave on my Late 2013 iMac 27" with the gtx755m on board. I swapped the 1tb hdd for an ssd recently. So on my old Win7 bootcamp setup i had presumably better drivers for Win7 respectively to Windows10. Why? Because my latency is now about 500ums (see picture attached), using dpc latency checker, it is in the green but higher than in Windows7. So i want to bring it down as low as possible. As you can see Nvidia is the biggest culprit, together with NDIS (being the Broadcom NetExtreme gigabit ethernet driver). The DirectX driver is something we have to live with i believe, can't do much about that. I tried to disable a lot in the device manager, but nothing gets dpc latency further down. Cpu throttling could be an issue, but on an Imac with the latest Mojave Firmware on board, that is also a dead end. If you have the golden tip for bringing the latency down as low as possible that would be awesome. Don't get me wrong, the latency is not spiking. I am running the system purely as a Digital Audio Workstation, it comes down to having the best latency possible. My soundcard driver buffersize is set to 512, and i am using a USB Soundcard (Focusrite Forte) running the best drivers available (advised by Focusrite support). Hope this explains it a bit more. So basically the best lowest latency win10 drivers available to date for the iMac’s Network Card and Nvidia Card etc etc.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, didn’t get the notification as my post wasn’t quoted.

Focusrite eh, I’ve got one of those but a Scarlett 2i2. Dumb question: have you tried decreasing the buffer size?

I had a similar audio latency issue in LPX when I increased the buffer size to counter I/O errors when live MIDI tracking. My laptop’s pretty old so it’s a struggle. However latency with audio recording went to crap. As soon as I decreased the buffer size (and a few other things in the same menu), it fixed the problem. Any luck with that?

Decrease to 256 you mean? That lessens the buffer resulting in cracks and pops in bigger projects that is. 512 is fine for me though. I am an in the box (in the daw) producer. Decreasing latency is not for decreasing the buffer but for more stable computing inside the daw. Clicks and pops occur fi when using the mouse and working in the playlist and mixer. I will give it a try to decrease but that limits the playback realtime even more, stressing the cpu more i believe.
