Does anybody have any preferred IM clients?
Meebo's looking promising, but not until 3.0 sadly.
Which are the best for now?

Beejive and IM+ are both pretty solid. IM+ is $9.99 and Beejive is $15.99 which really isn't that big of a difference if you think about it.

Overall I like Beejive a bit more than IM+, but IM+ is improving very quickly and isn't a slacker by any metric.

BeejiveIM all the way. I have used tons of IMing apps from Fring to Palringo to AIM. Beejive has to be the best one!

Who says Meebo is going to be free?

What'll be the advantage of Meebo over Beejive (just wondering why people are waiting on Meebo rather than buying Beejive)?

Beejive's been pretty awesome so far.

I ask the same question. Just because they demo'd Push? You can bet that the Beejive folks are working on that right now too (assuming they have access to the APNS since many devs don't still). When 3.0 rolls out, you'll probably see a Beejive update with it or shortly after that will probably offer the same stuff that Meebo offers. Beejive is well worth the money if you use an IM app quite a bit. I use it to talk to customers or a business partner on the other side of the country so it's convenient. I think people just don't like the idea of spending $10+ for an IM application. If you need it, it's well, well worth it. Very polished app. (doesn't play very nice in 3.0 though currently)

It sounded like macfan881 was just saying that Meebo was what he/she would be using when Meebo came out, so they didn't want to spend $18 for Beejive in the 3 month interim. Makes sense to me.

Maybe I'm misreading something, and if so ignore me. But Beejive has had an app in the app store for months. I bought beejive not too long after I got my 3G.

I don't see what you could be misreading.
Yes, BeejiveIM has been in the app store for awhile now.
