I recently purchased a new MacBook Air with the M2 processor for my son to take to school (he's an eighth grade) and bring a computer to and from school is a requirement of his school). I've always purchased AppleCare Plus on all of our products, but know that theft protection only applies to iPhones and iPads, not Macs. I've never really been concerned with one of our Mac computers being stolen, but being that he will be taking this to and from school each day, I do now have said concerns and I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on a good insurance company they have had a good user experience with or know someone who has, with regards to purchasing a policy that would cover the protection of a MacBook. Any advice/help anyone provide would be extremely appreciated!

I'd start by checking whether your current homeowner's policy covers electronic device theft. If not, you may be able to add a rider. Talk with the company to learn what they offer. At least you'll have a baseline price to compare if you talk with other companies.

Interesting. I didn't know theft didn't apply to AppleCare on Macs. It should. Glad you were able to get it added onto your homeowners insurance. I will have to call and figure that out with my Homeowners insurance. Good to know!
