Looking for a sweet spot to buy an iPad Pro 11 second handed.
Some time ago I had a pro 10.5 but gave it to my mother.
I am missing it sometimes specially for web browsing/taking notes in pdfs (it will be good for work now).
I’ll use it for travels to edit pics from my Canon R5 on the go, but not in a regular basis as I prefer the laptop and Lightroom classic…

iPad Pro 2018, but maybe 64 won’t be enough so I should target 256…

iPad Pro 2020 128gb around same price of iPad Pro 2018 256gb

iPad Pro M1, I see it around 150usd higher than both previous models

iPad Pro M2, I have education discount so it’s cheaper than official price if I buy new, but still double the price than the 2018/256gb or 2020/128gb

Recommendation?

IMHO at least the 2020 model, preferable M1.

Reasons: developing/editing RAWs is so much faster, not to mention doing for example something like stitching panos or using ML-based functions, batch processing RAWs from your EOS, et cetera. Additionally: the RAM of 6GB (2020 models) or 8GB on the M1 11“ make all the difference when multitasking, e.g. even with adblocking the 2018 models will reload web pages more frequently when having multiple sites open or doing things in parallel.
Additionally - if you might occasionally connect a monitor: it is much better supported on the M1 models; when compared file transfer speeds are improved on M1 > 2020 > 2018 models. That said: for read&write external storage use SSDs/USB 3.x sticks only and get FileBrowser Professional on the iPP.

The thing is I’m waiting the the m2 pro to be released to buy a MacBook Pro 14 inches to replace my MacBook Pro 15 2017 with screen issues after some time… but yes I guess I shouldn’t cheap out and go for one of the new models, just sick that the M2 doesn’t have the new screen yet…
