Now that the iPhone 6 is out and many app makers are doing updated camera apps, I'm trying to decide which one is the best and which one to stick with. I've been playing with PROCAMERA 8, CAMERA+, MANUAL and PROCAM 2 (the just updated fixed version). Can someone chime in and discuss why one is better then the other etc?

I think the best is to come.

Do any of these allow you to turn of the noise control on the 6 camera?

I will be watching this thread as I feel that Aplle is a little heavy with trying to control noise. I would think as they did not raise the pixel count, less noise would rule.

I like camera plus myself but I've been mostly using the default camera app.

I read a lot of good things about procam 2 but the manual controls aren't that intuitive.

I assume you mean camera pro 8? I'm kind of liking that too

Best iPhone 6 camera app

Played more with procam 2. Still think Manual controls not that intuitive and other programs do it better.. but I see when you switch to video it has all the iPhone 6 frame rates including the slow motion frame rate. The only other program I've seen with that is moviepro.

Yeah, the manual controls of Procam 2 is a real pain until you get used to it.
MoviePro is great with videos as you can shoot with higher resolutions, higher bitrates and with different frame rates than Apple's camera app.

BTW, just noticed that the newest update to Procam 2 brought us an ability to unlock, with in-app purchase, 30fps 4K video mode :eek:

For $5 doesn't hurt to try. Atleast price beats the $999 app (now $44.99), and exactly supports higher frame rate. Quality is other thing but we'll see.

What app?

If you're asking about the $999 app it's Vizzywig 8xHD.

Just did a bit of testing with Procam 2's 4K ability and it seems pretty great in quality. It's not fully flawless yet, for me it doesn't do the upscaling to 2160p for them 3K, and it works best with 25fps. Biggest differences to MoviePro is that video stream is JPEG format (something like the Vizzywig but with higher possible bitrates and with lower price) and you can't choose the bitrate/quality yourself.

But what comes to your original question, at now I'd choose Procam 2. You can shoot uncompressed photos, with extra bucks video in 3K/4K while it has manual controls. Also there's now focus assist and peaking to help focusing with manual focus. All in all I find it having more useful features than the those other apps. Atleast now.
