I'm finding that the old iPhone Browser and iPhone Explorer will not run on my Windows 7 machine. (the both crash on startup). There does not seem to be an updated version of either of these. Any ideas on what else to use?

How about Phone Disk: http://www.macroplant.com/phonedisk/ ? Will it work for iPhone 5 (iOS6)? I am trying to look for something to edit (possibly) hidden/system files.

Or does iFunBox/iExplorer allow you to edit system files?

(This is obviously without a jailbreak)

Thanks,
FS

Does iFunbox allow you to see hidden system files? If so, can you manipulate the data? Is backing up app data easy?

If your phone is jailbroken, you can access the root files with iFunbox
You can copy files to desktop, manipulate them then rewrite them to the device (use caution - always save a copy of the default)
Backing up app data is best done using iTunes or for jailbroken DataDeposit

Thanks. Will iFunbox allow me to access my music files on iOS? Also, does Phone Disk work with iOS6?

Not sure what you're looking for, but it found all the files I was looking for (theme files). It's free, so just go grab it and find out for yourself.

Yes to iFunbox. You can't "Drag and drop", this is an iOS limitation. But you can recover music off of your iOS device
