Must have's that are used daily:

1) ABContacts ($4.99 and a free lite version) replace Apples worthless contacts app
2) Evernote (Free) replaced Apples worthless notes app
3) TouchToDo (.99 cents) gives a needed app that Apple wont give
4) AccuWeather (Free) replaced Apples worthless weather app
5) Pandora (Free)
6) BillMinder ($2.99)
7) i.TV (Free)
8) IM+ ($1.99) replaced Apples SMS app
NEW 9) oo Tunes Radio
($3.99) The best live radio streaming app available. Its like having the radio attachment for iPods on your iPhone. Finally, real traditional radio for the iPhone...commercials and all :)
These are my most valuable apps as they also all work with my Google account and its function as well. Google is my FREE MobileMe another charge by Apple. My google account does every single thing MobileMe does except it is free and I only have a little over 7gig of free space.

Shoot, Apple just needs to give up on making worthless apps and let the great dev world do it for them. The only one I use is the iPod and Mail app and I am sure someone could make it better then Apples minimal programs.

My personal faves:

1. Remember the Milk - this along with their webapp has made me sooo much more productive. It's also the most polished, stable and functional app I've tried to date. Love it.
2. BeejiveIM - quite simply THE best IM client for the iPhone.
3. Jaadu VNC - a fantastic, stable & very handy VNC app for remote control of my Mac.
4. Trails - I've tried virtually all the GPS running/cycling apps out there (iMapMy, Trail Companion, Everytrail, Fitnio, Distance Meter Pro etc.), and this beats all of them by a mile for accurate, reliable GPS tracking of my runs and bike rides. It also integrates beautifully with the Mac desktop app, TrailRunner.
5. Gazette - the best and fastest syncing Google Reader client I've seen; use it on a daily basis.
6. Facebook - not a lot to say, makes me very unproductive :)
7. Touchgrind - I simply LOVE this game :)
8. MobileFiles Pro - from QuickOffice; THE best document viewer & emailer/iDisk client/spreadsheet editor that I've tried. And I've tried quite a few (AirSharing, OneDisk, Briefcase, Mobile Disk, Files etc.)
9. Rolando - I had to put this one here. A truly fantastic game, and keeps my 3yr old son occupied for hours! :)

There are others, but that's the pick of my bunch!

I don't use it the most, but xplane extreme is hands down the most impressive iphone app. It's unbelieveable what they've crammed into such a small device!

Saisuke - Quick entry via copy and paste of recurring events. Online back up at Google calendars. It looks cluttered though.

Todo (by Appigo) - Online back-up at Toodledo, ability to create lists and list filters for Focus View.

MyVideos - high quality YouTube videos downloaded onto my iPhone for offline viewing.

Wikipedia - Most of the wikipedia articles downloaded onto my iPhone for offline viewing.

BBC Reader - No longer in the app store, but it downloads all the articles from BBC onto my iPhone for offline viewing.

Instapaper Pro - Saves webpage text and is much easier to read than the original webpage.

Wisdom Japanese <--> English dictionary - I live in Japan.

Japanese - Wisdom displays in Kanji, but this dictionary, while sometimes very outdated, shows all words in Hiragana

American Heritage 4th Edition - Fairly good dictionary, easy on the eyes, and the hyperlinks to other words or the Roget's Thesaurus are fast.

Momo - Password secure notebook with search and tags. Everything backs up to Momo online.

SplashMoney - Still the best money manager, but some of the new apps are coming close.

PicVault - Keep private pics private. The folders feature is useful.

I have loads of games. My favorites are Galcon, Chess With Friends, Fastlane, and Wurdle.
